In taking up my assignment as Ambassador of Italy to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I feel obliged to point out that the relations between our two Countries are based on the constant and generous efforts performed by many, in their respective fields of action.
In this perspective I wish to acknowledge the positive attitude of the Political Authorities, of the Institutions and of the People of Nigeria. Indeed, their openness and will to cooperate with Italy has been the key of the successes already achieved.
I also wish to thank the Italian citizens working and living in Nigeria and the Italian companies operating in the Country. Through hard work, unique skills and the sheer force of their commitment, they have offered, and continue to offer, their contribution to the growth of Nigeria, as they did for many other hosting Countries and for Italy itself.
Finally, I wish to also acknowledge my Predecessors and all the Italian Diplomatic and Consular Staff, on whose achievements I would be glad to further build on through my personal effort.
